The Baca Grande Stables is located on 35 acres at 8,000 feet above sea level in the San Luis Valley of south central Colorado. Sitting at the western foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mts., Willow Creek bisects the property from east to west with abundant stands of old growth cottonwood, pinon and juniper along its banks. Views extend 30 miles east across the valley to the San Juan Mts., south to the Great Sand Dunes National Monument and New Mexico, and north 50 miles to the Collegiate Peaks.
We have capacity for 30 head in stalls, pens and paddocks with automatic heated waterers. Two arenas, round pen and hundreds of miles of trails offer variety for the enjoyment and training of both horse and rider.
Trail rides are available year round by reservation. All trail rides are preceded by an evaluation lesson; riders who are capable will continue their lesson on the trail.
Riding lessons and long and short term boarding are available.
Week-long sessions of day camp lessons for youth are held every summer.
